Deskripsjon: This new restaurant with an idyllic sea view has attracted the attention of those looking for tranquil evenings, cosy and friendly atmosphere, first class service and memorable dishes. It is a place for around 40 diners and a year after its inauguration enjoys well deserved success. Our attention was caught by the quality of the details (from the bread to the table ware) and their wine list presided over by excellent Californian, New Zealand and Oregon brands....as well as splendid Spanish and French names. The menu maintains style with all of their offers, from starters through to main courses and desserts, great control and profound knowledge is in evidence. Shining is the lobster bisque served with ginger and cream together with tarragon and orange oil, brilliant scallops diced in citrus with artichoke hearts and Palma honey. Luminous whole lobster with scallops served in a bowl of polenta with an asparagus and pistachio sauce, sprinkled with roasted fennel.
Lesernes omtaler for Los Roques -
Book if you want to be outside and catch the fantastic sunset.
The setting alone makes the trip worth it, set on the harbour front in a tiny fishing village with amazing views of the coast you feel very far away from the tourist mayhem of Las Americas and Los Cristianos.
So many restaurants here look the part but fail to deliver, yet Los Roques delivers in spades.
On our last visit we went two times. Food highlights: a bueatifully fresh warm vegetable tart with goats' cheese, amazing prawn balls in a curry sauce, ostrich from a nearby farm with a smoked potato cake and red wine sauce, amazing local fish with a really simple sauce, potatoes and brocolli, all so fresh.
Deserts, my absolute favourite, the avocado and lime sorbet, husband had a baileys-chocolate thing which comes a very close second and I think I ate as much of it as he did!
To cap it all, the staff here are fantastic, helping with the menu and wine list, suggesting other restaurants all over the island as well as inside tips on places to go - better than the hotel reception staff!
